Booking.com keeping bogus homes ?

<p>I made a booking via booking.com, got a confirmation stated its booked,3 days later a lady contacts my sister saying the house is needed by the owner,than she says she would like to offer me other homes not even worth the price,the lady basically is giving me a 101 excuses that now someone else also booked the house and so on,i would like to know what business ethics is there when a business books you a holiday and confirms it and later tries to talk you to take another home,the way i see it is that booking.com is keeping bogus homes, or that agents are making extra money for there own pockets.trying to contact anyone on *** ? Forget it no responds ! How safe is it booking via these websites ? So many questions can be asked ?still waiting for a lady to contact me but the attitude she has is unprofessional also comes across as a very agressive character ? Why all this trouble just to havr a holiday ? Air Tickets,car rental all must jst go2 a waste ?</p>
