Beware before using Booking.com…read this

1 week of travel in Italy: 1) Ecovia car rental at Fiumcino airport refused to provide booked car as would not accept International Drivers Licence and Temporary SA Drivers licence which is a full licence with short expiration of 6 months vs 5 years, Had to rent from a different company no problem. But now Booking.com won’t refund my deposit which is theft. 2) Four days later in Genoa we’re at the door of our apartment we booked and paid for 2 months prior. In the dark, in the rain we get a message from Booking.com that the booking is cancelled! We’re at door. Now what? Beware before using Booking.com! I’m out….
