Bad accommodation bookings abroad
My wife and I booked a tour to Ireland for Dec/Jan 2022/2023, accommodation mostly through Booking.com. We, reserved, booked and paid in January and February for most of our stays. However, without any valid explanations, five of our stays have been abruptly canceled by Booking.com and their hotel partners since September, the last two stays only now in November. I honestly did not know that this is the norm and integrity of the tourism industry. We accepted that our bookings were in place and well managed by Booking.com. Hoever, the cancellations rather had us scrambling around at the last minute to find new accommodation, at much higher prices, a much weaker exchange rate than with our original bookings, and at a cost as the refunds we received were all less than what we have originally paid. I am not sure whether this will be acceptable to anybody, and I will certainly not use or recommend Booking.com again.
