Avoid booking.com incompetence

Absolutely lousy service and *********** booking platform. Booked two properties that appeared as being available on the platform on the same day. Had money deducted immediately from my account, only to be informed that the properties were already occupied by the owners! Booking.com promised a full refund and a $50 inconvenience gift. , instead received 12 percent less than I was charged . Excuse is that they not responsible for my bank charges or any currency fluctuation- despite them being solely responsible for the mess up! Ridiculous service and recommend NEVER to book with them! I’ve learnt my lesson.
