At home rosewood road Sandton accommodation

On April 11th 2024I visited Johannesburg and made a booking in this platform, got confirmation number and pin with property details named "At Home rosewood road Sandton" first and foremost the telephone number linked to this property was off, couldn't get hold of the host and security at the complex wouldn't let us in as he was not instructed to let anyone in for this specific apartment. My fiance and I waited for 6 hours outside the complex whilst in the interim I contacted booking.com but got no response from them.. all it said was I will get a response in 24 hours. Kept trying the number for the host listed on booking.com, but still nothing

My fiance and I was forced to book alternative accommodation and I mailed booking.com and told them it was unacceptable that this is happening... No response.. I emailed them about 7 times that day with no response.. when I got back to Cape town I managed to get hold of a contact number for booking.com I called them on the 1st may 2024 and explained the situation. I was told that the owner would be contacted and they will email me once they get a reply from the owner/ host.but that it won't be longer than 6 days... On the 10th I called again as I did not get a response back from them ..

I was irritated at this point as I had to explain the whole situation to them once again and was told to give them 7 more days, when that 7 days passed I still didn't get any response from them , I called in again and demanded they refund my money.. I was then told that the owner responded that she had accommodated us which was a lie... I was asked why did I only make contact to them on the 1st may, I told them to go and check as I emailed them numerous times on the 11th April but no response.. then they told me to forward them the mails I sent.. I did that and 10 days went by with no response..

It is clear that they have no intention of paying me back the money I lost and to no surprise, the At home accommodation rosewood is still listed and 2 more people was ****med out of money by booking.com and this host/owner.

I would advise to please not make use of this platform as it's becoming a ****ming site and booking.com is not doing anything about ****ming situations brought forward to them

I for one will never use them again
