Accommodation disappointment

During March, I booked accommodation through Booking.com at The Royal Ushaka Hotel for 7 & 8 June 2024, for Comrades Marathon.

We all know how scares accommodation is, during Comrades time, it's extremely important to have that in order. After booking, paid, receiving the confirmation message, I phoned the hotel twice to confirm my accommodation again.

With our arrival at Ushaka Hotel, the receptionist said my booking was canceled. They had to book the hotel out for the police.

Therefore I had to make a booking last minute for accommodation which put me under a lot of pressure.

I contacted Bookings.com when I got home, Monday 10th June. They said that they apologize for the inconvenience and said that they will get in touch with The Royal Ushaka Hotel to request a refund.

I received an e-mail requesting the original Accommodation from The Royal Ushaka Hotel as well as the Invoices for the two additional places that we stayed at. All requested info was sent.

Booking.com rep**** stating that the property did contact me regarding the accommodation and that it was cancelled. I never received any cancellation via e-mail or SMS or Phone call. They took the payment online and now the refuse to refund my money.
