You are paying a specialist cash but you need to ask for authorisation

I dont understand why you must ask for authorization to see a specialist if you are paying them cash, they are a cash practice, so why would you need authorization to see them, my claim got rejected because I didn't ask for authorization before going to see a specialist on the boncap option
