Worst Service Ever - No one ever available and never has answers
My husband when for a Polysomnogram test on the 29.08.2017 without a CPAP machine and then on the 21.09.2017 with the CPAP machine. (Reports attached) As the specialist explained to me, his results are very concerning and he has to get a CPAP machine urgently (Doctor's referral letter attached) We were quoted by Sleep Easy on the 17.10.2017 and submitted to Bonitas special cases department on the 17.10.2017 as well. After Bonitas medical aid told me it will take about 14 working days to get an answer on the cover we will receive, we got the authorization letter for an amount of R12800 on the 14.11.2017. After 3 days I got an sms that they will only be paying out the mask at an amount of R2069.00 I then phoned the supplier which confirmed that the special cases department never sent the authorization letter to the claims department and will resubmit. On the 21.11.2017 Jean at Bonitas confirmed that the letter has been successfully linked to the claims department and resubmitted for payment - ***. On the 28.11.2017 Nadeem advised that the claim is still in for processing and there is no payment run date yet. I then phone myself and spoke to Bonitas Call centre which told me the claim will be paid urgently on the 08.12.2017 and is still not paid. This morning 11.12.2017 I phoned and now they are saying that it has been rejected again!!!!!! Even though there is an approved letter from their special cases department , which is exactly what they told me 3 weeks ago. This has been going on for about a month now. The supplier can't help us until the medical aid pays them and my husband is at the point where he is unable to work, unable to sleep and injures himself daily due to falling asleep in various situations. This is extremely unprofessional and which I consider to be malpractice as how can a medical aid allow a patient in dire need of assistance take this long to sort out!!! Please can you urgently look into this matter as I no longer have any options on how to sort out this situation. It is influencing our household income and eventually, if not sorted out, will lead us to lose our membership with our medical aid. If they actually read the results where it said that he stops breathing on average 137 times an hour, surely they would've done something to get this done urgently ..... apparently not!!!
