Worst Medical Aid Ever

I have been with Bonitas medical aid for almost 2 years now. In June I fell and was taken to the hospital by my husband through emergency. The medical aid has now rejected the claim saying the hospital should have requested and authorization but the hospital says i am liable for the payment. I am now left with an account that is not settled and is my responsibility for the mere fact that I got ill. Why am i held liable for the hospital's process defaults. I have been contemplating cancelling my medical aid with bonitas as and when we have conversations with my colleagues about how they find ways not to settle bills but this is it. I was sick, I have a medical aid and now I have to live like a person who does not pay thousands towards a medical aid by also settling my own bills? Bye Bonitas
