Worst Customer Service Ever!!!

I called Bonitas on the 22nd of March 2016, to get authorization for a C-section. The agent who assisted with the authorization advised that my son and I will be covered for the hospital stay etc. but that in the event that either of us have to remain in hospital for longer than 3 days further authorization has to be obtained first.

On the 25th of March the Doctor confirmed that my son has Jaundice and have to stay in hospital for another 3 days for treatment. As this was a public holiday, I could not obtain authorization and therefore requested that they discharge my son and do the treatment from home. The hospital provided the details of a Private Photo the****** and confirmed that this will be more cost effective than the hospital stay, we therefore proceeded with this.

On the 19th of April 2016, I went to the Bonitas offices to do the following:

1. Register my son on the medial aid. (At the moment I was still listed as a dependant on my father’s medical aid)

2. Submit and enquire on outstanding claims.

3. Requested to be removed from my father’s medical aid and to be moved to my own policy with my son as of the 1st of June 2016. (We decided on this to ensure that all claims are successfully processed first)

After receiving no correspondence except for a termination confirmation email (Confirming that we will be removed at the end of May 2016), I received communication from the Doctor and the Photo the****** advising that they have not received payment.

I have logged numerous calls with Bonitas, each time agents promised to call me back and every time they failed to do so. I then have to call the call centre again and explain the whole situation.

It seems that the termination was submitted before the registration and therefore my claims will not be settled.

To date I still have not received further communication and / an explanation on how this can be resolved and have to take daily calls from Doctor’s offices following up on payment due to code 37 – dependant not registered on medical aid.

If I hadn’t called Bonitas at the end of May, my son and I still wouldn’t have been on our own medical aid – as they lost the new application forms as well.

This is unacceptable and the worst service I have ever received.
