Utterly Disgusted with Bonitas Medical Fund – Neglecting Emergency Care for the Elderly!

I am beyond appalled by the shocking lack of support and service from Bonitas Medical Fund. My 90-year-old grandmother is severely ill, and we rushed her to Sandton Mediclinic, only to be told Bonitas doesn’t cover this hospital and now requires a massive co-payment. We’ve tried arranging an ambulance transfer, but even that has turned into a nightmare—Bonitas insists on prior approval for the transfer, and their “emergency” SOS number (***) has been completely unresponsive.

Both the doctor and nurse, along with the ambulance team and myself, have been trying desperately to reach Bonitas for over 20 minutes with no success. We are literally in an emergency situation with a critically ill elderly woman waiting helplessly. This medical aid is nothing short of a disgrace. Bonitas’s complete negligence and failure to provide essential emergency support is a betrayal of its most vulnerable members.
