Unprofessional

1. Failure to apply the correct income bracket.

After sending continuous proof of bank statement to show that the average income falls below a certain bracket, they continued to insist on placing my mom unto the higher income bracket. The initial upgrade results in a roughly 46% increase in premiums.

2. Miscommunication between hospital and approved procedures.

My mother-in-law had an accident where she injured her knee. A knee operation was authorised. A subsequent disagreement between what codes were used resulted in the rejection of payment for that surgical procedure.

3. Old unpaid settlement surfaces two years later, then gets mysteriously paid with no evidence.

The membership with Bonitas was canceled by Mrs Rinolfi effective 31 March 2017, however an unpaid settlement fee from Dr TB Kourie from 2 years ago surfaced. Arrangements were made to pay this off. Upon querying the statement it was found the owing amount was now paid by the medical aid. Upon Dr Kourie's insistence a proof of payment was requested from Bonitas. However they deny the payment has been made and refuses to provide proof of payment as a result. Secondly did payments we made to Dr Kourie not been captured on their system, Thus we suspect ********** activity between the offices of Bonitas, and Dr Kourie.

4. Continued activity on membership account even after termination

On 21 August a new amount of R267 was being demanded. A subsequent email of the amount revealed no reason for the amount. Upon request no Bonitas agent could provide a reason, however insisted on payment. A few days later, the amount was handed over to Credit Workx, on the 6th of September with us only being aware of this amount for a few weeks, and after we requested the reason for the amount. Subsequently Credit Workx almost daily, and sometimes twice daily makes calls while for every call places a charge. This is ********** practise. This could be an indication that a syndicate is operating between a Bonitas employee and Credit Works and must be investigated. Credit Works should request details if proper procedures had been followed as per normal Credit control practises before they take on a hand-over.
