********* response in refusing to pay a claim

Claim ***. In February 2022 I had a claim for an Ultrasound of the abdominal wall. This falls under radiology treatment. It was out of hospital and I had cover for R1500 for radiology treatment according to my plan. I was suppose to pay a 20% excess. The claim came to an amount of R842.60. I was suppose to pay an excess of R168.52 and obviously the medical aid the difference. Then the claim was completely rejected and I was told that I have to pay the whole amount before scans can be performed. Upon querying this with Bonitas, for the last few months, they told me that this specific radiology treatment is not covered on my plan. It does not "fall under the scope of radiology treatment" on my plan. How utterly ********* and a complete joke. Never heard of a more pathetic excuse not to pay a claim. The contract says that you covered for radiology, not only certain radiology procedures and I have a limit. Their response was shocking to me. Why was my available funds not used ?Until today there is over R1200 funds available for radiology claims out of hospital, yet they refuse to use those funds and pay my portion. Be very careful with Bonitas. They have become very *********. This is unfortunately one of many claims where they come up with ********* responses not to pay. I will forward this to the ombudsman of medical councils if not resolved.
