The worst experience with Bonitas

I have never encountered such blatant disregard for accountability as I have with Bonitas Medical Aid. For over two years, my statements have been riddled with incorrect balances and miscalculations. Despite providing them with evidence and repeatedly requesting proper reconciliation, Bonitas has shown no urgency, no accountability, and absolutely no respect for their members’ finances.

Month after month, the statements reflect incorrect carry-forwards, unexplained adjustments, and manipulated figures that do not align with actual contributions and payments made. I have had to do my own reconciliation — and the discrepancies are shocking. The errors run into thousands of rands, yet Bonitas refuses to acknowledge or correct them.

This is not a minor oversight — it is gross negligence and a clear demonstration of the sheer incompetence and indifference that Bonitas shows towards the very members who keep this scheme afloat.

Bonitas, you cannot continue to take money from members while issuing *****ulent, error-ridden statements. It is a disgrace, and your failure to take responsibility is unacceptable.

I urge anyone considering Bonitas to think twice — because when you need transparency and accountability the most, you will find excuses, delays, and silence instead.

The fact that they always say they’ll investigate only to tell you stories about payments and how it’s not their fault is disgusting. There’s never a manager or team leader you can speak too. The staff is rude in the offices and think they are just there to collect their paycheck instead of helping with issues. Emails NEVER get responded to. Yet emails demanding money come through on a daily basis.

Bonitas — your members deserve better than this chaos. Fix your mess.
