STAY AWAY - GETTING A CLAIM PROCESSED IS A NIGHTMARE
A simple request of requesting feedback regarding a claim becomes a tedious and frustrating process.
Initial claim submission 14/06/2024, Second submission: 18/06/2024. Both had rejected as submit to PHA, expecting a 78 year old to even know what PHA meant is beyond me.
Use the WhatsApp platform and spoke to an agent by the name of Siphiwe on 28/06/2024, who was able to explain that Bonitas uses a 3rd part for processing of claims and that there is a seperate email address address for Boncap claims to be submitted to, no where on the Bonitas website is this confirmed. After much back and forth, Siphiwe took the initiative of contacting PHA and thereafter submitted the claim to PHA, making a 78 year old to be contacting a 3rd party to follow up on claims is sickening. Medical aid was taken with Bonitas, NOT pha.
Received a claims acknowledgement on 09/07/2024, logged onto the website, low and behold the first claim line is rejected as stale claim and the other as not available.
Tried the WhatsApp line again, spoke to Themba, which was very unhelpful and extremely rude, and then one wonders why people leave a business when customer service does not exist. Called the number he provided, spoke to an agent and she was also not able to advise regarding the rejection of the claim.
Is there anyone at Bonitas that is able to advise regarding the claim rejection ???
Or should this be sent to the ombudsman for further assistance?
