Stay away from Bonitas Medical Aid

Stay away.

Bonitas decided to suspend my account without communication or informing the member. When contacting them, the agent was also not sure why they suspended my account. I then received feedback from the finance department admitting that they made a technical error and did not debit my account in December 2024. I agreed to a payment agreement, informing them that I will be making monthly installments to make up the amount they did not deduct in December 2024. But today, I got a payment reminder in which they decided to include this outstanding amount to my standard debit order.

Firstly, the error was on their side because I have a debit order in place to pay my contributions monthly - why did it take them 9 months to notice that they did not debit my account in December 2024.

Secondly, what is the point of agreeing to a payment arrangement if you decide that you are going to add the outstanding amount to my debit order - once again not consulting with the member. This was the last straw I'm switching over to another medical aid, I can't deal with this useless and horrible service.
