Sick and Tired

It is regrettable that I have resort to this platform to advertise my dissatisfaction with Bonitas Medical Aid. I am a BonComphrensive member. I was informed by the broker of Bonitas that should I be hospitalized my medical aid will payout up to 300% the recommended benefit.<br> In May 2015 unfortunately I was hospitalized and following several procedures I needed blood transfusions. Upon my return to work in July 2015 I discovered that the sum of R25 000 for blood transfusions was paid out by my positive savings balance which I accumulated over 8 years.<br> So now I find I have no savings, I now owe Bonitas, naturally I return to the Broker who is as surprised as I am that the in hospital cost of blood transfusions was not covered by the medical aid. I was advised to write a complaint to the Council of Medical Schemes, which I did. However I'm informed that it takes about 6 months for them to reply, while all that time passes I have to settle Lancet Lab who is also owed money. I requested the scheme rules which does not state that blood transfusions in hospital is paid out of a members savings.<br> Please help.<br>
