Refusal to Pay

In July I was rushed to hospital because I couldn't breathe. I got an account from the hospital and when I queried it with Bonitas I was told I should have phoned for authorisation or the hospital. How is it my fault that the hospital didn't phone you?! And how was I supposed to phone you? I could barely breathe and was seeing stars?Basically what Bonitas is saying is that you can be on deaths door, unconscious from a car accident....but you have to wake up, phone Bonitas for authorisation and hope you get through for authorisation before you bleed out and die. The logic makes no sense. Do you thinks it's fair to prejudice me for the hospital not doing what they should?!! And again, I couldn't breathe. I was physically incapable of functioning, let alone phoning you for authorisation. This is why people have medical aid. In case of emergency. Not to get done in by a ridiculous loop hole because the medical aid to too stingy to pay for something that should be covered
