*******

The scheme suspended the benefits even when they were paid because the income verification was sent late (what happened to treating customer fairly)and the payment that was made was less than their high defaulted contribution. My argument is that the member is over 61years and is not the premium/contribution payer as she can’t afford it as she is a government grant beneficiary which is R1600. That information was submitted to the scheme the previous financial year together with the proof (letter) from the department of labour confirming that the member was never employed in her lifetime. The other thing that Bonitas failed to consider is that the member leaves in the rural area where facilities to fax the documents are limited and expensive to use. Secondly they failed to call as the correspondence send to the member’s daughter who is the premium payer went to spam and was never read. As a client I feel that I was treated unfairly and Bonitas expect me to pay more than 300% of the normal rate what guides such a huge contribution. Should anything happen like an accident happen the member is not covered and can die
