Queries unresolved/Shocking Account/Debt Control/Shocking Customer Service

In my opinion, Bonitas is an excellent Medical Scheme, but I had to leave them due to their products becoming too expensive and another Medical Scheme being more competitive, as well as really creative with looking after their Customers.

The disappointment I've experienced lately is that Bonitas Accounts Dept. methodology & Debtors Control is shocking.

On leaving Bonitas 30 April 2015, I was unaware of an outstanding amount of R768.00 due to them for apparent services rendered and "insufficient savings" for the period, where I was under the impression you get a certain amount of savings for the year and it doesn't matter when you use that savings - it will be there. Bonitas said that I only had a pro-rata of that savings by end of April, hence the outstanding amount.

I'm still unhappy with that logic, however, after a backwards and forwards e-mailing, I unhappily paid the full amount of R768.00 on 26 February 2016, of which I have sent them proof on a few occasions. This was paid to their banking details on the bottom of a statement sent to me.

Ever since then, Bonitas have been sending me a statement of account with the same "outstanding amount", which I resent to their queries e-mail section, to please stop sending these accounts, as my account is paid up.

To date, no one from Bonitas has called me to find out where the issue is, or to even try and resolve this.

On 4 August 2016, I received yet another e-mail with an attachment saying that they have handed the debt over to debt collectors, due to no response, which is absolutely shocking! Keeping in mind that I've been communicating with Bonitas via e-mail all of this time, even though the account is paid up. At one point, I even told them that they are now harrassing me and I'm going to delete their mails.

I refuse to phone Bonitas or go to their Regional offices, as the error is on their side and why should I pay for a call to their 086 number or inconvenience my time for this.

As a part of their Customer Services and Debtors Control, this is their function - to communicate well and ensure that Customers are well-treated and any gaps closed, even past Customers. Past Customers could become future Customers and this is not how you treat them!
