Processing of claims takes forever and co-payments are extremely high

To whom it may concern

My husband went for an operation 09/03/2026. We had to pay a co-payment at the hospital of almost R6000.00. The hospital submitted the claim electronically on 16/03/2026. Bonitas only processed it yesterday.

Because of this, the hospital account does not show on our monthly statement and we wont be able to claim from our GAP cover until end of May 2026. This is absolutely pathetic. In the interim we are out of pocket with that money as we had to borrow that money because NO-ONE has R6000.00 lying about as we pay a bucketload of money for the medical aid already and they don’t pay for anything.

I am absolutely furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!
