Poor business practices by Bonitas Medical Aid scheme.

I had a recent experience with Bonitas where I was taken to Unitas Hospital by ambulance for treatment. Upon my discharge on the same day I was required to pay a consultation fee by the hospital out of my own pocket, and advised that I will be refunded by my medical aid. I sent my claim for a refund to Bonitas and later received an email that I need to submit further documents, which I did. Thereafter I heard nothing further until today when I phoned them and was only told then that I need to resubmit the documents, which I again did. Now having gone through that process I am now told that they will not refund the full amount because the Doctor who treated me claimed for private and not according to fund rules. Now the issue here is that I was taken by ambulance to a hospital which is recommended by Bonitas, thereafter treated by Doctors there who presumably work with Bonitas. Why should I be penalized as if I went there of my own accord. The explanation given to me is unsatisfactory and inadequate to say the least. On top of that I had to undergo an operation due to the same issue I was brought to hospital for, and again paid a so-called Co payment for my hospital stay. Further to that, I was given a prescription for medication and again had to pay from my pocket because Bonitas refuses to pay for the medication. This so called medical aid fund should be ashamed for its business practices. They are just like sharks and their only interest is to make a profit. They don't care for their members wellbeing at all. I am utterly disgusted.
