Pensioners/Boncap rules

<p>My parents are pensioners for the last 5 to 10years, and as their chldren we have decided to take out a medical aid for them. So 2016 i discovered that apparently every year October my parents have to submit an "INCOME VERIFICATION" form including a 3 month bank statement and a letter from Sassa (appaarently a pensioners statement). this was discovered when my eldest sister notified me that she heard from a friend. Upon calling the Bonitas call centre i waited almost 30 minutes before my call was answered only to be told that the cut off date was in October2016. I asked the consultant why must this be done as they are pensioners and surely their income WILL NEVER CHANGE. i didnt get an answer. i said in todays technology driven world how is it possible that their computer system cannot differentiate between a pensioner and a youth member (who's income could possibly change year after year) by just using their ID numbers? i didnt get an answer</p> <p>So i contacted my mom i told her she needs to get affadavits as they dont have bank accounts and they dont receive statements from Sassa either. </p> <p>On the 22nd December 2016 the paperwork was e-mailed through to ********** My sister then notifies me in January 2017 Bonitas deducted over R6000 from her bank account. I called Boniats to find out why and the response was we didnt receive all the paperwork, some information was missing. so i asked "when was this information captured?" the 22nd decmeber 2016. my next question was "so why didnt anyone contact us to notify us?" NO ANSWER!!!!</p> <p>BONITAS JUST PLACED MY PARENTS WHO IS PENSIONERS ON THE HIGHEST INCOME BRACKET OF +R15500 PER MONTH AND PUSHED THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS UP!</p> <p>then i get told its too late, you have to pay the contributions this month and if you send us the documents we will change it for February 2017. RIDICULOUS!!!!!</p> <p>furthermore, i found out that if you change from Fedhealth or any other medical aid to Bonitas they charge you a late penalty fee and you wait for 3 months before you can use your medical aid. WHY????</p> <p>this was the answer - Because they absorbed the cost and expenses of Liberty or some other medical aid and now they must make up for it!!!!</p> <p>WHERE DID YOU HEAR SUCH BS????</p> <p>they are the worst medical aid EVERRRRRR and a *******!!!</p> <p>I am cancelling my parents medical and putting them on another!</p>
