PENSIONER behind on premiums on a contract she didn't even know she has
I've been with Bonitas since 2009 - 2018 (May) when membership was terminated due to non payment. I called Bonitas to make arrangements but nobody was willing to assist. I joined Discovery Health from June to September but wasn't happy with the service and the premium so I re-joined Bonitas. At this stage it was said that I would be able to pay the original premium I was paying in the beginning of the year and everything will stay as it was when membership was terminated. Now, 3 months into the new application process, I struggled for almost 2 months to confirm new membership number, banking details and contract which I still didn't get. When I contacted them on 5 December 2018 it was confirmed my membership started in November already and that I'm behind on payments. (I still don't know the premium and haven't signed anything accepting the premium or for a debit order to go off my account)
Now on 10 December 2018 I receive my premium which is R1300 more expensive than what I was paying in May this year with no explanation at all. I am a pensioner who now must pay over R10000 in membership fees which I didn't even know I have.
Up to this day I haven't received any contract or confirmation or ANYTHING from Bonitas
