Pap Smear collection of cells and analysis must be paid in full from risk

The Council for Medical Schemes is clear on the PMB benefits concerning Pap smears. According to them, "The actual pap smear / collection of the cervical cell AND the analysis in the lab must be funded in full by the medical scheme." Why then does Bonitas refuse to pay for the collection of the cervical cells by a GP? Here is what Bonitas have to say about that, "The Pap smear is covered from your preventative care benefit. This does not include the GP consultation. The consultation code which was submitted correctly is payable from your day to day benefits." I would advise anyone who has paid for the GP consult to obtain a cervical cell sample to lay a complaint with the Council for Medical Schemes.
