Outstanding Medical Bill

On the 25th of January 2022, I went to see my specialist for a medical issue. I was referred to the specialist by my GP. The specialist did a full check up and drew bloods on the same day. On the 2nd of February 2022 I received a claim acknowledgement email from the medical stating that they received my claim. Normally when I receive these emails, I know that I do not have to pay in or partially pay a small amount of the total amount. The specialist billing office called me about a week saying that the medical aid rejected my claim due to an outstanding referral letter. I told them that my referral letter was in my hospital file, which was sent with when my claim was submitted. Which didn't make sense to me all because when a claim is submitted to the medical aid all proof must be attached. I then WhatsApp'd Bonitas with my query. They came back and say that a reference authorization was outstanding - what the fvck! I emailed them twice already no response - pathetic bunch! I emailed them again today and they said I needed a specialist referral. How can I provide them with a specialist referral when I went to go and see a specialist. That didn't make sense. A few hours before knocking off work they said no, the specialist that I was referred to was not in my GP's network. This is so damn frustrating. Now I must pay the full outstanding amount of my medical bill for idiots that experts in their field. Why am I paying thousands of rands every flippen month for a damn medical aid that is not covering me. That's plain bull **** to say the very least.
