Option change allowed but won't be done without XYZ - putrid
*** - *** / [MI***]
Bonitas communicated on 17 March 2023 that hospital networks have changed and that some plans have been affected. As such, Bonitas is allowing the affected members to upgrade their option - upgrade matrix provided in the email. Acceptable option is BonSave to Standard option.
I have completed the option change form and provided a motivation letter (unclear why this is necessary as Bonitas communicated this change is allowed). In response, Bonitas have requested that I provide a medical report and treatment plan because coincidentally I am scheduled for a medical procedure on 6 April 2023 at a hospital which is no longer on the network for my plan.
The call centre is scripted and is seemingly unable to comprehend anything outside of their script, thus I get no joy there. I've asked to speak to a manager and was left holding on for over 15 minutes whereafter I dropped the call.
My simple request: Upgrade my option from BonSave to Standard Option effective 1 April 2023 Reason: Because you have given me the option as Mediclinic Sandton is no longer on the BonSave list and that hospital is my preferred hospital where all my doctors practice from.
