ONCOLOGY BENEFITS - CHEMO THERAPHY TREATMENT PLAN AGAIN NOT APPROVED

My father is a member of Bonitas medial aid, the Standard Select option - has been a Member of Bonitas for many years. He has been undergoing Chemo Therapy for the last 2 years, and reacting very well on the treatment, so much so that his Medical Doctor uses him as an example of what is possible with the right treatment to other cancer patients.

His latest proposed treatment plan by his Doctor has been submitted, however Bonitas Case Manager and or Oncology Medical Advisor is not approving the Treatment.

This whilst there are still funds available to cover Treatment.

Several emails, long telephone calls by myself, my father as well as Cancer Care still leaves no approval of the Treatment Plan.

Is Bonitas now trying to play God and decide when Cancer Patients die? His Medical Doctor is of opinion that Treatment must continue and motivates such - but Bonitas is not approving this critical needed Treatment.

We are paying membership fees promptly each month for years and years - but Bonitas doesn't want to approve critical needed chemotherapy for a patient that is on a plan that still have funds available.
