Oncology Benefits

I am currently experiencing a mind boggling experience. Am fighting prostate cancer since 2013 with being a member of Bonitas. I had a clear PSA up to end 2016 where it started climbing again and with scary amounts. Since Jan 2017 we have been trying to change the current treatment due to my body building up resistance to hormone treatment. In June 2017 chemo were administered in Cape Town due to us living in Vredenburg and Cape town is the closest. That said and done. After session 3 PSA dropped to 17.6 very happy it's working. Took PSA again after the 5 th treatment just to find that PSA were climbing again hence the body building resistance against treatment with hormones. As a cost saving to the medical aid I had my testes removed as well to reduce chemical hormone supression issues. Today my PSA standng at 30 I cannot access the R390 000.00 oncology bennifit on my medical scheme due to a panel reverting back the drug that's been prescribed are to new in SA. If I move to the top plan that will cost me R5528.00 monthly as to R4009.00 now Bonitas will agree to pay medication then. Why is the meds only axceptible. With all the ct scans and bone scans the radiooligists as well as oncologist cannot say where the cancer is in the body. The next scan is the PET scan which is not covered by Bonitas as well. My honest question here today is , is there not a way that the medical aid can view a case on merrit per patient needs. Why does everyone get put under one roof. Clearly my aggresive cancer is growing rapidly and hormone treatment does not work. Where does this leave me at this moment? Which profesional boards can we approach to assist us in this tiresome fight that's had a birthday already?
