Not my choice

I had been a member of Liberty Medical Scheme for 20 years. Liberty was bought out by Bonitas and therefore automatically became a member of this scheme. Therefore it was never my choice!

Their service is despiscable for many reasons, but the two that stand out are the fact that my son had blood tests in January This year, of which they never covered a cent. When I enquired they said they needed the pathology reports from the labaratory. I did eventually get these off to them a month later and when I enquired a couple of weeks later they said they never got them. I then requested the lab to send them off a second time and after following up they said it was under review. I kept enquiring as to what was happening and it was always UNDER REVIEW! Lo and behold I get a message the other day to say "that because i am in my self payment gap the payment to the lab is for my account.... WELL OBVIOUSLY FOOLS.....if you had attended to my my many queries from February this year, when I was NOT in my self payment gap it would have been settled.

Then my next issue as an individual with an auto immune dissease whom does go see a reuhmatoligist every three months, I am now expected to get my GP to physically call Bonitas to get authorisation before my appointment. If this was standard practice, GP's would be on the phone all day long motivating why their patient needs to see a specialist and never have time to actually consult. What a cheek

Bonitas I never chose you, and I feel like I just got the ****y prize.
