Need a consultation with a specialist - have to pay the GP first!

I tried to submit this on your website Bonitas, but got an 'error has occured', so forced to take this public. Please sort out your website. My complaint relates to: I've been battling for almost a week (ref 100821QPRT1D and BON***6 for today's call) for someone to have common sense and not hide behind a scripted response. I am considering a vascectomy as I'm in that stage of my life, so would like to consult a Urologist to discuss the procedure. I am so frustrated because I can't even see the Urologist without a GP referral. I do understand when a patient consults his or her GP and they need specialist intervention, you need to be referred. I totally understand that. But in this case, there is no need to go to my GP first, because all they would do is refer me and then CHARGE me? I was even told by your consultant, even if the receptionist gives a refferal number? Where have you ever encountered a Dr who would authorise their receptionist to refer to a specialist? GP's will definitely charge even just for a referral number. I am being sent from pillar to post all because I would like to sit down with the Urologist and discuss the procedure? I am so frustrated because I spoke to 2 consultants on the phone this morning and you could hear they were following a scripted response. Really sad that common sense can't prevail
