Multivitamins Are The Devil, According To Bonitas
I really wish that there was a Zero Star option on this. I invite every other abused clients of Bonitas to share their story if it is similar to mine. I have been a Bonitas member since April 2019 and am very disappointed with their trivial and senseless "Exclusion Policy". My issue revolves around a simple request for my Centrum Multivitamin pills to be paid for from my savings account. Apparently this "Exclusion Policy" applies to Centrum multivitamins as well as all other multivitamins. Apparently multivitamins are the devil, according to Bonitas.
None of their woefully inadequately trained call centre staff could explain the reason for said "Exclusion Policy". In addition to that, I even put my pharmacist on the phone for their consultant to explain this "Exclusion Policy" to him in case this quantum physics PhD thesis level rationale for this "Exclusion Policy" was beyond the grasp of mere mortals such as me. Unfortunately, my patient pharmacist was left even more bewildered than I. To top it off, the consultant said that he’d follow it up and would be in contact. Over a week passed and I still hadn’t had any response from them. I assumed that when a PAYING CLIENT phones in regarding a matter like this, the company which promptly debits their account every month from said PAYING CLIENT, firstly has an onus to resolve the issue, which they obviously did not.
In the absence of any resolution to this problem, the very least effort act they could undertake is phone or SMS or email me to let me know their feedback. None of this was done. I keep reiterating PAYING CLIENT because I need to make clear that I am not Bonitas’s charity CSI project or anything like that. I PAY for their services and I think I have a right to expect a base level of adequate customer support due to said PAYMENT FOR THEIR SERVICES. So after over a week of no response, I phone in with their reference number to follow up on this disturbing lack of respect for my consumer rights. Off the top, the reference number was a dud. I had to explain the situation again to the new consultant. What was the point of this useless reference number anyway if the first consultant didn’t even bother attaching any notes or comments to this reference number?
Why would they not pay for my Centrum Multivitamins? I have been using this brand for over two decades now without any complaints. Perhaps they have top secret, insider information based on extensive research, which indicates that the consumption of Centrum Multivitamins is actually injurious to public health. I would urge Bonitas to then share this information with the General Public and their relevant regulators who would then be responsible for issuing the requisite public health warnings. Perhaps the U.S. FDA has issued warnings to only highly reputable medical Aid Schemes like Bonitas about the danger of using all multivitamins and Bonitas are sitting on the information while they craft a meticulous strategy to unleash this vital information and rescue the unsuspecting South African public from the dangerous depredations of the pharmacology industry. If they are privy to such information, they should also be notifying Pfizer, the multinational pharmacology manufacturer of these Centrum Multivitamin pills.
Of course, I understand that these decisions are not taken by the call centre consultants at Bonitas. In which case, perhaps Gerhard van Emmenis, Luke Woodhouse, Lee R. Callakoppen, Kenneth Marion, or any other Bonitas employees within their senior management structures, who in their omnipotent wisdom, have decided that Bonitas members cannot use their OWN MEDICAL AID SAVINGS ACCOUNT MONEY to pay for multivitamins, should explain their rationale to their PAYING CLIENTS (WHO ARE NOT CHARITY CSI PROJECT CASES). I hope they keep it simple, since my simple brain may not be able to comprehend words uttered by the machinations of their gargantuan brainpower.
Still waiting.

Over a week passed and I still hadn’t had any response from them. I assumed that when a PAYING CLIENT phones in regarding a matter like this, the company which promptly debits the bank account of said PAYING CLIENT every month, has an onus to just as promptly resolve the issue, which BONI (TO-HELL-WITH-MULTIVITAMINS) TAS, obviously had no intention of doing. In the absence of any resolution to this problem, the absolute least effort act they could undertake was to phone, SMS or email me to provide feedback. None of this was done. I keep reiterating PAYING CLIENT because I need to make it clear that I am not BONITAS’s charity CSI project or anything in that vein. I had to explain the situation again to the new consultant. What was the point of this useless reference number anyway if the first consultant didn’t even bother attaching any notes or comments to this reference number on their tracking system? Why would they not allow me to pay my own money for my Centrum Multivitamins? The consultants I spoke to just kept repeating "Exclusion Policy" like they were some brainwashed zombies or cult members who were only in possession of a solitary basic instinct to reiterate that phrase till kingdom come. Of course, I understand that such distasteful business decisions are not taken by the call centre consultants at BONITAS. I understand, with all due respect to them, that they are mere lackeys following orders, sometimes with deficient product training and knowledge, as well as non-existent logical reasoning s****s. In which case, perhaps Gerhard van Emmenis, Luke Woodhouse, Lee R. Callakoppen, Kenneth Marion, O. Komane, Advocate L. Koch, M. Lesunyane or any other Bonitas Trustees or personnel who form part of their senior management structure, who in their omnipotent wisdom, have decreed that Bonitas members cannot use their OWN MEDICAL AID SAVINGS ACCOUNT MONEY to pay for multivitamins, have a fiduciary duty to explain their rationale for this execrable "Exclusion Policy" to their paying clients WHO ARE not charity CSI project CASES AND ACTUALLY PAY FOR THE SERVICES which they have a reasonable right to expect in good working order. I hope they keep this explanation simple, since my rudimentary brain may be unable to comprehend the words uttered as a result of the internal machinations of the gargantuan intellects of such leading lights. I also hope that these luminaries are able to tear themselves away from their endless rounds of ruthless politicking and ass kissing in order to actually add value to their business and end this reprehensible "Exclusion Policy".
