BONITAS is a horrible medical aid. They're the only people that can give my mother her membership certificate from 1982 when she was 33yrs old. They're refusing to help her, a now 77yr pensioner. This leaves me stranded. I have to incur late joiner penalties (penalty for people who join medical aid after age 35yrs) on GEMS, i have to forfeit my govt subsidy. I have have to stay down and out just because I'm a black person. They REFUSE to help. I must now pay GEMS R17 000 instead of R12 000 because they refuse to give her her individual certificate that violates no POPIA act. I even went into their offices and they flat refused in my face.
Don't join Bonitas. They're unhelpful in the present time. They will be in the future when you need them most. This behavior infuriates. Their unwillingness to help is on another level.
If there's anyone reading this who can help me. I beg you please help me.
