Meningitis in a 10m baby not considered emergency!

We recently took our son to our resident paediatrician at Vincent Palotti hospital. Our son is 10 months old and was up all night with a fever.<br> <br> As soon as our son was examined, the doctor suspected meningitis and sent him down to the paediatric ward for a lumbar puncture and treatment. He was booked in.<br> <br> You are now saying this was not a medical emergency as we did not bundle him in the car after diagnosis, and drive to one of your network hospitals.<br> <br> Can you please explain to me why meningitis in a 10 month old is not considered a medical emergency, and why you expect me to now pay in Z****00 when the hospital fee is not even that amount?<br> <br> I'm finding this quite ridiculous and it seems your company is just trying to get out of payment by using any loophole you can find. <br> <br> Please prove otherwise.
