Medical Aid **** - You pay more than what they do.

Honestly the WORST Medical Aid, I have to pay 73% of an invoice for a c-section because they say the Dr is not on their network however the Dr works FOR the Hospital on their Network. They send you a message advising you that the full bill will not be covered WHILE you are in surgery making this completely useless because what do I need to stop the Dr in middle of surgery saying ohh sorry my medical aid just messaged me you are not on their network so lets find a Doctor that is. Needless to say the message does not even state to which Dr they are referring to. After that looking at 12 months I paid more out of my own pocket than what the medical aid covered. So what is the point of medical aid then? Their scheme rate is totally ridiculous, where will any Dr charge you R5,300 for a c-section?? Above that they could not care less that you actually saved them over R14,000 of hospital fees for an additional day in hospital. The required stay for a c-section is 3 days, I however only stayed 2 days as my Dr was happy with my progress and gave me the option of going home one earlier. A c-section was not my plan, but Dr advised the week prior we would need to do c-section and schedule it for 03 April, if baby does not come naturally before then. I have a video of where you can see the umbilical cord is around his neck with the birth, but they also keep saying this was not an emergency. Totally and utterly disgusted with the service I received and would NOT recommend Bonitas to anyone.
