Medical aid cover suspended without notice

I would just like to voice my utter disappointment with you.

The company I worked for offered a medical aid benefit whereby they contributed a percentage of my medical aid premium towards their preferred medical aid which was Bonitas. I have been with you since the closure of liberty medical aid.

I have however left this company at the end of August. My medical aid contribution was deducted from my salary and I have since contacted Bonitas to arrange a debit order to be effective from end September. I then received a message on Friday to say my medical aid is now suspended and after contacting you was told you have not received payment for September and that I should make payment into your account to have it re-instated.

Now, I would like to know where the money is that was deducted from my salary at the end of August? Also, how can you just suspend a membership without making any effort to notify or warn me so that I can resolve this with my previous employer?

I have also asked the consultant to send me info on a cheaper option as I will now be paying in my personal capacity and was told that you will decide if I can downgrade based on my income and area of residence. Is it not my choice what option I choose to be on?

Totally unacceptable! I expect this to be resolved immediately otherwise I will definitely cancel my membership with immediate effect and go to a medical aid who wants my business.
