Issues with unresolved claims of a PMB case

My son was born on the 19 May 2016 one of the happiest days of my life. unfortunately, my wife had some complications during the pregnancy and an emergency C-section was scheduled by our gynaecologist to keep both my son and my wife alive. The only paediatrician on call on that day was one that did not conform with Bonitas standard rates.

The Medical aid paid the penetration their prescribed rates and left me to fend for myself with the paying of the outstanding balance. It came to my attention that my case can be view as a PMB condition in terms of the under Section 29(1)(o) of the Medical Schemes Act. This states that my medical aid is by law supposed to pay the full amount of the medical if the case can be view as an PMB case. (Pregnancy and childbirth: Antenatal and obstetric care requiring hospitalisation, including deliver. After I became aware of this I contacted my medical aids helpline and opened a case with them, the penetration has also opened a case at the medical aid but it remains my (the medical aid member’s) responsibility to sort out this mess. It has been 5 months that I have done my first enquiry at the medical aid with no avail, every time I get the same response and apparently the case has still not been resolved. I have contacted the general help line on numerous occasion, emailing the documents required as proof of the PBM, every time I contact them it’s the same story. I spoke to a supervisor (Mr Ismail Maboko ) at the call centre as well who also made empty promises to resolve the issue… it is now the 12 Jan 2017 (8months after the surgery) and my issue is still not resolved.
