Incorrect Information on hospital cover.

I have literally had the worst experience with Bonitas medical aid, the amount of stress that this experience has placed on my pregnant wife has been an absolute nightmare. I actually regret leaving Discovery medical aid. When we found out that we are pregnant and we need a gynecologist, we contacted their support team and informed them of such.

They checked which benefit we fall under and sent us a list of which gynes we can see that are in our area. After informing them that we expecting hence the request and also asking to get guidance on what are our benefits the agent who helped us failed to inform us that the gynecologist that she suggested as an option is not covered on our plan at the hospital that he operates from. So why list him as an option in the first place.

Then 6/7 weeks before the scheduled delivery date we find out we have to pay out of pocket for the delivery because the gynecologist isn't covered on our plan. Even though they gave me the options to choose from they failed to tell me that he is not under the approved network of hospitals and this is the only hospital that he operates from.

At this late stage trying to move to another gyne/ hospital is extremely risky as I have been advised, now I have to pay out of pocket. When I was on discovery we did the exact same procedure and never had any issue like this. I am definitely leaving bonitas after this horrid experience!!!!!!!!!!
