Incorrect Debit Orders for Boncap in 2025

I've been with Bonitas (Bondcap) for a few years now. I've never had much reason to doubt their integrity and reliability until this year. Since the start of 2025, their administration has been outsourced to a third party which made the monumental mistake of incorrectly charging majority of Boncap members.

My monthly premium is around R3500 but for both January and February of this year, I've been debited for R7500. The issue was picked up early in January when the first mistake occurred, and was reported through our broker. Regardless of my brokers attempts to rectify the issue and communicate on our behalf, we were then debited a second time in February, again for R7500. After this I decided it's time I get involved myself and I phoned Bonitas only to be on hold for 20 minutes without answer. I then proceeded to send an email explaining the situation but no response after 72 hours.

I'm amazed that a company like Bonitas can let something like this happen and not send out a single notice or apology to the people being affected. It's like they're completely oblivious to how this can impact their clients. For some of us, having R15 000 taken from our bank accounts (instead of R7000) within a period of a month is beyond inconvenient, it's unacceptable.

Money that was put aside to pay for living expenses is gone. Other debit orders are bouncing which affects credit score. Still no communication from Bonitas themselves. We don't just deserve our money back (which was essentially ****** without permission),we deserve to be compensated for the damages and inconvenience.

I look forward to see how and when Bonitas will handle this situation, since it will certainly impact their client base.
