I would be better off TATTOOING my medical aid number to my forehead!!

I have recently been added to my husband's medical aid as a dependent. I asked when I might receive my medical aid card that I can keep on my person in case of an emergency situation, but was informed that Bonitas no-longer issues actual cards, but instead utilise an app on your phone.

My problem with this is, what if there was a situation where I was incapacitated (eg: car accident, and I'm unable to communicate due to being unconscious) and none of the first responders can find any evidence (like a card inside my wallet) that informs them that I have a medical aid? No one is able to access my phone without my assistance (like MOST normal human beings, I have a security code on my phone's lock screen) so the medics would not be able to get into the phone, AND even if they did manage to do that, they would have absolutely no clue which medical service I am on, so what app are they going o look for? And if, by some miracle, they do get into my phone, and find the correct app, how are they going to access the app ??? As it also needs a password.....????? In the meantime, I would be bleeding out lying in my car waiting for the poor medical team to figure out where o take me.

When I pose this question to Bonitas staff, I am told that I will be taken to a government funded hopsital, and once they figure out that I actually do have a medical aid (if I am still alive) then I will be transferred to a private hospital.

WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING A MEDICAL AID, IF I AM GOING TO END UP IN A GOVERNMENT FACILITY IN ANY CASE????????? I would be better off TATTOOING my medical aid number to my f#@king forehead!!
