Horrible experience with Bonitas.
First major and horrible experience with bonitas. Advised by a specialist doctor to undergo a minimum of 5 hours of dental surgery. Bonitas response: No to surgery. No to theater costs. No to anesthesia. No to post-op care. Its ok, I can afford it myself. I am not the principal member but the first beneficiary. I think my medical aid needs will be best served by changing service providers.

14 Jul 2025, 00:09Received a response from Shavonne requesting documents from my Surgeon that were already provided as a request for pre authorisation. Required documents were submitted a priori. Now it is past surgery. This scheme will take your monthly contribution money and your savings account. And then pay nothing back. The scheme is happy to pay for over the counter generics and general pharmaceuticals, but if you need surgery or hospital you are probably in trouble.
