Extremely Dissatisfied with Bonitas Medical Aid Service
Extremely Dissatisfied with Bonitas Medical Aid Service I am extremely frustrated with the poor level of service my mother-in-law has received from Bonitas Medical Aid. She has been a loyal member for over 20 years, yet the treatment we have experienced has been nothing short of disappointing. We have had to pay approximately R7,000 out of pocket for in-hospital benefits while continuously contacting Bonitas for assistance. Each call involves holding for close to 40 minutes, with no effective resolution provided. Despite her current medical condition, Bonitas has refused to approve her stay in a rehabilitation facility. She is 80 years old, has a broken ankle with an external fixator, and now requires a wheelchair. Bonitas initially paid claims from her day-to-day benefits instead of her hospital benefits, and are now advising that there are no available funds for essential medical requirements, including the wheelchair. This level of service is unacceptable, especially considering her age, vulnerability, and long-standing membership. We urgently require Bonitas to review this matter, provide clarity, and approve the necessary medical support as she is being discharged tomorrow Contact Vanie: ***
