Duplicate Debit and Unresolved Refund

Regarding an ongoing and unresolved matter with Bonitas Medical Fund that has caused me significant frustration and financial inconvenience.

On 2 June 2025, Bonitas debited my account twice (R10 500) for medical aid contributions. This is despite the fact that I had already made an EFT payment of R5,250.00 on 14 May 2025, which was confirmed as received and allocated under reference number 140525QY1PZL.

Despite multiple confirmations from Bonitas that the payment was received, I was still charged again via debit order for the same period. This has resulted in a duplicate payment amounting to R5,250.00, which I have repeatedly requested to be refunded.

The issue was raised immediately on 2 June 2025, and I was told a refund would take three working days. However, after numerous interactions via WhatsApp and follow-up reference numbers – including 100625QZK08S, 030625QZ403B, and 280525QYST8K – I have yet to receive the refund or a clear resolution.

Each time I follow up, I am told the query is being processed or referred to the finance department, and that feedback will be provided within “five working days.” These deadlines have come and gone without meaningful progress or accountability. I have sent proof of payment multiple times, and the issue has been escalated repeatedly without resolution.

This situation is unacceptable. Bonitas has not only failed to act on their error in a timely manner, but the lack of communication, accountability, and repeated requests for information that has already been provided reflect poorly on the quality of service being rendered.
