Don't be a fool to move to Bonitas

I have made the biggest mistake of my life moving from Discovery medical scheme to Bonitas. My husband has to have an operation and it has been a week and still no authorisation has been given. My husband works in the DRC and discovered in July 2020 that he has a lump on the side of his neck. He seeked help at a hospital in DRC in August as their restrictions were lifted due to covid and was advised that he would need an operation. As he was coming to RSA in September he decided to rather have the operation done here.... He was supposed to be operated on on the 5th of October but moved same to the 7th as we are waiting on the authorization.

Bonitas of course only works Monday to Friday from 8:30 till 17:00. It takes 72 hours before they even look at your email, then it gets referred to their medical advisor who just puts notes on the system stating "its for discussion" 15 telephone calls and 9 emails later.... Still being discussed.

Once again no operation...
