Distraught mom
My daughter got badly burnt on both her bums and left elbow after been pushed by her 10 year old cousin towards a heater while they were fighting for a chair.. Called the ER AMBULANCE which arrived promptly and while were on our way to Nkanyezi the closest hospital my husband and I called Bonitas to try and get Authorization for this since it was an emergency never got through to them and this was just after 6,the hospital also tried to call to no avail now 3days later my daughter had to go change her dressings and when we get to casualty we are then told that her medical aid is refusing to pay and that we were supposed to get authorization within 48hrs I mean all that was done and still no help and now I'm sitting here with a R10000 bill while I have a medical Aid why do I need to get authorization for an emergency how could I have known this would happen?
