Disappointed with oncology department
My mother is 76 years old and was diagnosed with breast cancer , it was detected early and the oncologist considers the condition treatable and curable therefore making it a PMB condition that should cover her treatment inclusive of Specialised medicine.
The feedback from Bonitas declined Herceptin as it is a specialist medicine, I appealed the decision and within a short time feedback was given same result, the manager didn’t even call me back after I requested it, it seems that there was a complete lack of consideration if there was merit to the case.
In December 2021 my mothers treatment was started late as well due to admin error by oncology department recording our membership as terminated when it was not the case, I promised I will hold them accountable if something happens to my mother, after hours of telephonic engagement finally they saw the light and issued an authorisation number for cancer treatment, one would think they would have taken more care this time around when we app**** for the Herceptin

Even the doctor’s motivation states clearly it is treatable and a PMB condition and still Bonitas declines the vital medicine to save my mother’s life
Can someone at Bonitas please wake up and phone me and then give me proper response as to why it is declined and not listed as PMB and then take lease to phone my mother and tell her why Bonitas will let her potentially die for lack of cover as PMB
