Life is not black and white but Bonita's benefits are rigid and no exceptions are made.

I have to undergo a simple procedure in my Dr's rooms and since the apparatus to be used are of high value, the nappi codes are being rejected. If a cheaper alternative is used, Bonitas will cover the cost.

Now I don't have a medical degree but if my Dr wants to use these apparatus, I'm sure he's got a very good reason. Far be it from me to question his medical degree and experience.

I feel I'm not being unreasonable in requesting Bonitas to pay to the value of the alternative and I'll cover the shortfall but to just point blank to refuse to pay anything at all, is unacceptable.

I've been a paying member of Bonitas for the past ten years with minimal claims and before that I've been on a medical aid for the whole of my life without defaulted once on payment.

It just shows again that Bonitas is first and foremost a business and not in the people business.
