Diabetic without insulin due to poor service - Do not recommend

Horrible experience :-( I sent my application to Bonitas on the 14th of December 2023 (waiting period). Attached was also my membership certificate from my previous medical aid.

Come January 3, my membership is still not active. After hounding them for days they finally sent communication stating my start date would be 01 April 2024. I don't know what the waiting period is for because I was previously covered and I moved within the waiting period.

I am currently uncovered and stranded as I am a diabetic on insulin ad need to collect my medication for January. I am scheduled to see my endocrinologist next month and I am not sure if that will even happen at this rate.

What makes it worse is that my husband app**** through his company that is contacted with Bonitas this year and he immediately received communication that his application is active with the start date of 01 January 2024.

I guess my crime is applying as an individual through a broker and not with a major corporation that receives first preference. I am in dire need of aid medically for my insulin and now I have to wait for underwriters to re-do their job since they failed dismally the first time around.

@Bonitas Medical Fund you need to improve on your service. You are leaving chronically ill people destitute due to your incompetence.
