Deducting more than what was confirmed in writing for 2 consecutive months and suspending funds
Kindly advise what is going on with my fathers medical aid premiums. We received the below correspondence from you advising that you accepted his income verification and that the premium would deduct as R4003.50 as from the 01/01/2020 yet you went and deducted R7696.50 in January. Which my dad went and returned as he is a pensioner and can’t afford this high premium. Hence the reason we app**** for capitation medical aid.
He paid the R4003.50 in Jan and today you guys go and deduct R7696.50 yet again even after confirming the new premium. And you also wanted in addition to deduct another R4749.00. Which was unpaid by his bank due to insufficient funds. He has to see a cardiologist and you suspended his medical aid plan, I assume due to not paying the full amount deducted in Jan which according to your correspondence is incorrect.
He is a diabetic and has issues with both his legs as they are turning blue and the doctor referred him to a cardiologist as they are not happy with his heart. He can now not go as he does not have an active medical aid.
I am posting this on Hello Peter also as this is unacceptable. You can’t confirm one thing and do another. He was with Spectramed and we cancelled the medial aid there as they did the exact same thing each January. Is it fun to discriminate against and take advantage of pensioners? They get paid peanuts, and with the cost of living being this high, to have a decent medical aid and not land up in our public hospital system were you end up lying in the passageways as they have no space, you opt to go for the cheapest medical aid with the best benefits and that you can afford and then you go and just deduct as you wish as often as you wish.
I except a response on this by the end of business today, and I do not care about your turnaround times.
