Decline of Synagis with con******* heart defect

We have a daughter that was born at 36 weeks premature. <br> <br> She was diagnosed with complex con******* heart defect this being inoperatable. The scheme has declined fund for the Synagis based on the option that we are on (standard option) but in there decline letter they say please send motivation to appeal the decision to your medical aid.<br> <br> The Doctor has sent through motivation to appeal the decision but the scheme continues to decline the drug. Our child not being able to thrive and if she contracts the RS virus it could be fatal for her. <br> <br> This is one of the reason why you have a medical aid is to cover for something unexpected. For a scheme not to care about the well being of there members makes me sick!! So the scheme would rather risk our child containing the virus than preventing it.<br> <br> Not to mention the scheme not cover the other medication that is needed to ensure the well being of our child. really considering moving to another scheme that takes care of their members in times of need like this.
